Wednesday 8th May - Dinner is served

The onboard restaurant reservations desk opens and does not get off to a good start. The latest booking time available is 18.45. According to the staff later times are all allocated to "groups". A cynic might think it a ruse to give the catering staff an early night.
The shop was a bit more helpful and we buy the miserly quantity of spirits that foreigners are allowed to take into the EU. Brexit - the gift that keeps giving. The shop also stocks a small selection of Spanish phrasebooks so we are able to remedy at least one of our deficiencies.
After a short siesta we step out to explore the the delights of the Pont-Aven. The Channel is dead calm and the sun is shining as R supervises our voyage. Amongst the myriad delights on board there is a rumour of a swimming pool, which we track down.
This startling discovery provokes the requirement for a refreshment. To R's delight (not) the entertainment duo specialise in Eagles' cover versions.
We arrive on time for our 18.45 restaurant booking and it goes well. Our table was surprisingly good and has plenty of space. We opt for the buffet without main course and eat ourselves silly.
R gets really silly when she loads her cheese plate with Rum Babas, claiming that she thought they were pickled onions. Oh how we laugh. Imagine a French restaurant serving pickled onions.
On the way home we take in the sunset.
